December 1, 2009 | Disney Introduces Black Princess

• The Princess and the Frog" opened nationwide in December and for the first time in Walt Disney animation history, the princess is a young black girl. Princess Tiana, is a throwback to Snow White and Cinderella. Tiana is a young waitress and talented chef who dreams of owning her own restaurant one day. The Miss Black USA Princess Program was launched in response to Disney's historical development.
